Welcome
This book was created because of Phoebe’s allergies. Phoebe was diagnosed as being anaphylactic to nuts, eggs and dairy products before the age of one, in 1993. This has forced her parents to cook and also adapt practically all her meals. The good side to all this is that we all eat a little better. Gone are the days of heavy cream and butter sauces (although some do miss the cheese).
As you will notice most recipes are everyday meals, often with the butter replaced by margarine or the eggs replaced by an Egg Replacer. It is a “meat and potatoes diet” without the fat (well there is a lot of olive oil).
Please read all labels and look for the warnings, all nut or milk warnings are to be taken seriously, Phoebe is not allergic to soy or sesame. Cross-contamination is a very serious problem, do not mix knives and other utensils, keep them separate. Keep the surfaces clean. The most common cross-contamination is when taking Phoebe's margarine. What else has your knife cut into?
The legal stuff. Well… there is none… We have taken from different recipe books, the web, friends and family, many have been adapted, and others are printed as is. This web book is not for sale… it’s for the Love of Phoebe.
We hope it is useful. Enjoy.
